Google Nexus 10 Stuff

This guide assumes using Ubuntu Linux.

Developer Settings

On the tablet:

  • Settings -> About -> Click multiple times on "Build-Number"
  • Settings-> Developer Options -> USB-Debugging -> on

On your computer:

Unlock

For Android 4 + 5

  • Turn the tablet off
  • Hold Vol+, Vol- and Power to go into fastboot mode
  • sudo fastboot devices
    • Check if device was found
  • sudo fastboot oem unlock

 

Install Clockword Recovery

For Android 4

  • Turn the tablet off
  • Hold Vol+, Vol- and Power to go into fastboot mode
  • Download newest recovery from https://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
  • sudo fastboot devices
    • Check if device was found
  • sudo fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.7-manta.img
  • sudo fastboot reboot

Root

For Android 4

  • Device needs to be unlocked
  • Boot tablet
  • Open Chrome
  • Download http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/Nexus10/Nexus10RootNew.zip
  • (or download the file on your computer, connect usb cable, select camera mode and copy the file into "Pictures")
  • Turn the tablet off
  • Hold Vol+, Vol- and Power to go into fastboot mode
  • Go to recovery by pressing Vol+ until "Recovery" appears and click the power button
  • Install from zip, got to directory "0", then "Download" and select the Nexus10RootNew.zip file
  • Install and reboot

Downgrade from 5.0 Lollipop to 4.4.4 Kitkat
