New Tesla Model Y 2025 Juniper - How to play music from USB stick
The only way I got this working (2 hours!) is to create two partitions on a USB stick. I used the USB stick in the glove box that was delivered with the car.
Be careful, this guide deletes all your data on the stick! Back it up first!
Ubuntu:
- Open GParted
- Top right: select the disk (USB-Stick) BE CAREFUL NOT TO SELECT YOUR HARDDRIVE!!!
- Menu -> Device -> Create partion table "MSDOS"
- Menu -> Partition -> New
- This is gonna be the TeslaCam partition. Select as much space as you want. I choose half of the available space.
- Filesystem: exfat
- Name: TESLADRIVE
- Menu -> Partition -> New
- This is gonna be your music partition. Select the remaining space.
- Filesystem: exfat
- Name: TeslaMedia
- Now check if you did everything right, then press the green checkmark in the toolbar to actually format the stick
- Unplug and re-plug the stick, file explorer should open and you should see two partitions.
- On the TESLADRIVE partition create a folder "TeslaCam" (not sure if this is necessary)
- Copy your music folders directly onto partition TeslaMedia
- Plug the stick back into you car
- Go to music sources and select "USB" (should now show up) or say "Play USB"
Windows:
I haven't tested this myself, but according to the post below you do it in a similar way but use the build in disk management tool by windows.
