Thunderbird maildir - One file per message

Pros:

• Much easier to backup

Cons:

• Beta. Unstable?

Convert local folder to "maildir"

• Thunderbird -> Settings (Burger button on start page)
  • Scroll to bottom -> Edit configuration
  • Search for "mail.store_conversion_enabled"
    • Set to true
• Got to account settings
  • Select local folder -> Settings
  • Storage method: mailbox (one file per message)

Setup for new accounts

Not necessary for conversion of local folder.

• Thunderbird -> Settings
  • Search Index
    • Save method for new accounts: Switch to "maildir"
